March 25, 2018 (Jamul) – At the Jamul-Dulzura Community Planning Group meeting this Tuesday, March 27, county officials will make a presentation on a draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for a major housing and mixed used development in the  Proctor Valley area about a mile south of Jamul and east of Chula Vista.

The project encompasses Village 14, Planning Areas 15 and 19.  This “may well be the single largest residential development Jamul has seen since the proposed Honey Spring development which was abandoned,” says  planning group member Janet Mulder.

The project proposes to develop 1,119 homes on approximately 1,284 total acres, of which 860 acres would be developed. The site will also include an elementary school, fire station, 7.2 acre village green and mixed use site with commercial business spaces. In addition there will be three public parks, three swim clubs, trails and other recreational facilities.

The planning group meets at Oak Grove Middle School’s library at 7:30 p.m.

Reservoir Levels

Loveland 56%
Sweetwater 29%
Loveland is a small reservoir and about one half full, Sweetwater is big and less than one third full, or is it two thirds empty. It relies on the First Aqueduct and runoff. Users will pay for the water via their bills, subsidizing the homes and businesses to be built.

IS THERE ENOUGH WATER?

Considering the current drought and not knowing what future rains will produce, is there enough water to support this many homes? I think this their water supply, and it's not extremely ample. https://www.sweetwater.org/243/Daily-Reservoir-Levels
