October 18, 2018 (El Cajon) - Boy Scout Troop 363 in El Cajon needs help after thefts of two trailers containing all of their gear and equipment—including supplies needed to run their annual Christmas Tree lot sales in December, a fundraiser that sustains the scouts year-round camping program.

In June, the first trailer was stolen out of the Elks parking lot in El Cajon despite anti-theft measures. They lost all of their camping supplies, but have continued with privately owned camping equipment.

But soon after, the troop’s Christmas Tree Lot trailer was also stolen.  The boys learn real-life skills working at the tree lot such as customer service, sales, building the lot and caring for the trees.

Loss of this fundraiser means many boys will not be able to attend future camping events, because their families can’t afford it. Troop leaders say there is no way for the 35-year-old Troop 363 to continue helping these Scouts on their monthly camping trips without help from the community.

Troop leaders hope to raise 10,000 dollars in the next few weeks to buy two Scout trailers, camping gear and supplies needed for their tree lot, so that they can continue to help young people in East County as well as provide fresh Christmas trees for the community.  You can help by donating at a GoFundMe site for Boy Scout Troop 363.

Trailer theft

A description of the trailer(s) would be helpful, and a photo even better. Do trailers of this type have a VIN?
