November 18, 2018 (Alpine)  Be prepared for power outages! The Alpine Library will host a forum for you to learn more about generators, solar battery backup and other residential emergency power options on Thursday, December 6 at 5:30 p.m.  

Local businesses including Bay City Electric Works, Clay Electric, and Kamp’s Propane will be on hand to answer your questions.

The Alpine branch of the San Diego County Library is located at 1752 Alpine Blvd., Alpine.

The latest Santa Ana wind event brought new SDGE areas of preventive power outages. Alpine was mostly spared from this and Descanso East know it as a regular happening. So us in Alpine can expect this safety precaution when winds and fire danger are possible. Please attend the DEC 6 meeting it will help you plan an affordable Safe option using a gas or propane generator to power your home or just important devices Refrigerator water if your on a well. Did you know during the shutdown a simple generator could let you still have internet cable tv basic lights and protect your food reserves? The cost to have what's called a transfer switch installed is affordable allowing you and your generator to disconnect SDG&E during power outages in a safe manner. A LIc Electrician can do so for minimal costs. This meeting will show you how.... Kevin Rogers
