April 23, 2019 (Santee) -- Detectives from the Santee Sheriff's Station now have a sketch of a man suspected of trying to lure a young girl into his car on March 28th around 6 p.m. on Poplin Drive in Santee.
A nine-year-old girl told detectives she was riding her bicycle when the suspect pulled up beside her and asked her if she would like a ride to a "game." The girl became scared and rode away in her bike all the way home. She was not hurt.
The suspect is described as a white man between 60 and 70-years old with white hair. He was last seen wearing a red hat and chrome sunglasses.
The man was driving what is described as a silver 1984-1990 Chevrolet Corvette with a "T-Top" and possibly a disabled plate from an unknown state.
If you recognize the man in the sketch or have seen the vehicle in the photo to the right, call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. You may be eligible for up to a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
