June 16, 2019 (San Diego’s East County) – Yesterday, 36 adults were arrested in a sweep by the San Diego Sheriff’s court services bureau, clearing 44 misdemeanor warrants and two felony warrants.  The operation focused on apprehending people with outstanding warrants, regardless of charges or bail amounts. It was conducted in Lemon Grove, Spring Valley, Jamul, El Cajon and La Mesa, says Sergeant David Pocklington.

The sweep was funded through assessment fees collected from people who violated a written promise to appear in court or failed to comply with a court order.

The Sheriff’s department indicates it will continue working to apprehend wanted suspects. People with outstanding warrants are encouraged to turn themselves in between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at any of the Sheriff’s court facilities.

Prop 47

Prop 47 save CA tax payers millions. It's all about money, now they will charge these ppl another $250, or thats what it used to be Which crimes were affected? The measure required misdemeanor sentencing instead of felony for the following crimes: Shoplifting, where the value of property stolen does not exceed $950 Grand theft, where the value of the stolen property does not exceed $950 Receiving stolen property, where the value of the property does not exceed $950 Forgery, where the value of forged check, bond or bill does not exceed $950 Fraud, where the value of the fraudulent check, draft or order does not exceed $950 Writing a bad check, where the value of the check does not exceed $950 Personal use of most illegal drugs

ITS ABOUT TIME!!!

It seems like since the passage of Prop 47 in CA, that law enforcement don't have much interest in arresting people for minor crimes as they are simply let out with barely a slap on the wrist. This kind of thing needs to continue!

:-)

Good job everyone! Stay safe...
