ALPINE MISSING PERSON FOUND IN EL CAJON

July 11, 2019 (El Cajon) - A missing person at risk in the East County has been found safe.

79-year-old Eufemia Danaher was found around 10:00 a.m. in the 600 block of El Cajon Boulevard in El Cajon. Sheriff's ASTREA (helicopter) Deputy Gary Kneeshaw spotted a woman who matched Danaher's description and made contact with her. She has been reunited with her family.

Danaher walked out of Viejas Casino in Alpine on July 11th around 1:00 a.m. She was last seen getting on a bus at Viejas Casino and then at the El Cajon Transit Center located at 352 South Marshall Avenue in El Cajon.

We would like to thank the public and the media for looking out for Danaher. We also want to thank Deputies from the Alpine Sheriff's Station and Sheriff's Emergency Dispatchers, as well as the El Cajon Police Department, Viejas Casino Security, Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) and our partner law enforcement agencies for their assistance.

During this incident, 20 Sheriff's Search and Rescue (SAR) Volunteers and two SAR K-9s helped in the search for Danaher. The all-volunteer unit performs wilderness and urban rescues, as well as search for missing and at-risk persons.
