September 15, 2019 (San Diego) – County Assessor Ernie Dronenberg invites you to a meeting of the California Board of Equalization on Sept. 19 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. in San Diego. 

The public is invited to attend, share ideas and concerns, and learn about proposals to modernize the state’s property tax system including potential reforms impacting Proposition 13, Split Roll Property Tax Initiatives, Opportunity Zones and more. 190919 BOE Informational Hearing.pdf

 

WHY ATTEND

 

Come and learn…this meeting will provide the public with an opportunity to share their ideas and concerns related to property tax with Board of Equalization Members.

 

This meeting is the first of four public informational hearings that will occur throughout the state to provide the opportunity for Board of Equalization Members to engage with Californians regarding modernizing the approximately $70 billion property tax system and emerging property tax issues such as Proposition 13, Split Roll Property Tax Initiatives, Opportunity Zones, etc.

 

The public informational hearings are a part of the Board’s new Modernization Initiative that was approved on August 27, 2019, to ensure a fair, effective, and efficient property tax administration that safeguards taxpayers’ rights – including businesses, nonprofits, and homeowners.
