February 26, 2019 (Washington D.C.) -- FEMA Administrator Brock Long announced that the federal cost-share for three major disaster declarations caused by wildfires in 2018 has increased from 75 to 90 percent, including major fire in California.

As part of the continuing resolution Congress passed on Feb. 15, the cost share increase is effective for the following disaster declarations:

Under the continuing resolution, federal funds for all categories of public assistance and hazard mitigation are authorized at 90 percent of total eligible costs. Additionally, federal funds for other needs assistance for both California disasters will increase to 90 percent. The cost share reduction is retroactive to the incident date of each event.

Camp Fire personal assistance

There may have been an increase to 90% of cost of the 2018 PG&E Camp Fire Disaster, but at the same tine, there seems to be a coinciding increase to 100% denial of selective uninsured essential personal property losses not denied others with similar or same losses under similar or same conditions in the same disaster that not even California’s congressman Doug LaMalfa can hammer out without adding a new kink. Meanwhile, disaster savvy crooks swooping in and falsely claiming residency at disaster naive survivor’s addresses can’t stop getting help.

This is good news! :-)

Despite the posturing and threats which the president spoke, a large amount federal money is forthcoming after all.
