May 24, 2010 - The Final Project Modification Report has been released for Sunrise Powerlink, showing the final route and any changes/modifications made to the project. View the report: http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/environment/info/aspen/sunrise/toc-pmr.htm.

The East County Community Action Coalition has organized an effort among opponents of the project to request that the Sunrise Powerlink CEQA/NEPA process be reopened to address issues that were not covered or not adequately covered in the original Environmental Impact Report (EIR/EIS).

Those issues include impacts from undergrounding lines in Alpine, impacts on El Monte Valley, temporary construction yards, water source, and other community traffic impacts.  ECCAC is also urging people to ask that the June 1 comment deadline be extended to allow more time for public review and comment.

Comments must be received or postmarked by June 1. Written comments on the final PMR may be sent to:

Deadline extended to June 7th

Thanks to intervention by Supervisor Dianne Jacob's office, as an "agency courtesy", the CPUC is willing to extend the PMR comment deadline until COB on Monday 6/7/10. This extension will allow the public additional time to comment on the document, and it should also allow the CPUC to continue to meet its current schedule regarding determinations on the proposed modifications.
