FIREFIGHTERS RESCUE TRAPPED MOTORISTS AFTER CAR PLUNGES OFF FREEWAY

October 14, 2010 (El Cajon) – A white car plunged over the side of westbound I-8 shortly after noon today, landing upside in a drainage ditch just west of Second Street.

 

Emergency workers extricated those inside and transported two patients to a local hospital, according to Monica Zech, spokesperson for the City of El Cajon.

 

Fire and rescue crews from the San Miguel Fire Protection District, Lakeside, Santee and Heartland Fire & Rescue participated in the rescue. A Sig-Alert was issued on I-8 during the rescue operation.

we drove by this yesterday. it was the 2nd street onrampp to WB 8. That is a horrible onramp. people race to be first on the freeway, the traffic on the freeway rarely lets a car in, plus there are two lanes of oncoming traffic quickly merging into one. Its a mess.
