IN THE DARK: 453 CUSTOMERS LOSE POWER

September 5, 2010 (San Diego’s East County) 9:14 p.m.—A total of 453 SDG&E customers are without power tonight in two separate outages, both impacting communities in nland regions. 

A suspected problem in the overhead electrical system has left 152 customers in the dark since 8:43 p.m. in the Jamul, Lyons Valley, Barrett Lake, and Casa de Oro communities, where power is projected to be restored at 9:40 p.m. Problems with underground electrical cables or equipment has caused 301 customers in Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa and Sorrento Mesa to be without power since 3:47 p.m.; power in those areas is predicted to be restored at 11 p.m.
