April 19, 2017 (San Diego) - Last night was disastrous. Luckily in baseball, you get more chances to redeem yourself. The Padres tried that again tonight in game two against the Diamondbacks. Zack Greinke started on the hill for Arizona against Jhoulys Chacin for the Padres.
This was the longest game of the Padres’ season so far to go scoreless for six innings. The Dbacks seemed to be daring the Padres to do their usual score early and then mess it up strategy, but they were smarter tonight.
Erick Aybar did the really smart thing; he waited till the eighth inning so there’d be less chance of a comeback to give the Padres the 1-0 win with a solo homer. And that was it. The Padres won with pitching, defense and minimal offense. Look for pigs flying on your way to work tomorrow.
The Padres get one more chance against the Dbacks until next week tomorrow at 6:10 p.m. Patrick Corbin starts for the snakes against Clayton Richard for the Padres.
