May 16, 2017 (San Diego) - Last night felt like the ending of every sports movie ever made.  Hunter Renfroe’s two-run walk-off home run gave the Padres the win over the Brewers.  That said, the game was quite nerve-wracking for everyone involved, so they tried to tone it down tonight.  Jimmy Nelson started on the mound for the Brewers against Clayton Richard.

It wasn’t the Padres who got started first this time; it was the Brewers.  Jesus Aguilar singled to score Keon Broxton in the first and Domingo Santana singled to score Hernan Perez.  Manny Pina added the dagger with a double that scored two.  Eric Sogard singled to score Pina and the Brewers just kept piling on and took a 5-0 lead straight out of the gate.

Nelson added one more in the sixth with a single to score Sogard and make the score 6-0.

Wil Myers tried to get the Padres going with a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth that made the score 6-1.

Matt Szczur doubled in the seventh to score Hunter Renfroe and inch the Padres closer, but they only got one run out of the inning and were halted at 6-2 for the rest of the game and the Brewers took game two in offensive fashion.

Game three is tomorrow at 7:10 p.m.  Matt Garza starts for the Brewers against Jhoulys Chacin.
