July 18, 2023 (Toronto) - After a(nother) bad series in Philadelphia, the Padres decided they weren’t having a lot of success in America, so they decided to try their luck in another country. A three-game series against the Blue Jays starts today. Grossmont High alum Joe Musgrove started against Alek Manoah for Toronto.

SorrySoto doubled in the third to score Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jake Cronenworth hit a sac fly to score Soto and the Padres led 4-1 after three.
Manny Machado and Gary Sánchez both hit a solo homer in the fifth and the Padres led 6-1 after five.
Trent Grisham hit a solo homer in the eighth and Jake Cronenworth doubled in the ninth to score Soto, while Sanchez hit a sac fly to score Machado and the Padres found success in a different country with a 9-1 win.
