August 5, 2017 (Pittsburgh) - Gregory Polanco took away the Padres’ lead last night, but ever determined, our intrepid heroes sought out to take game two against the Pirates tonight with Dinelson Lamet on the mound against Gerrit Cole for the Pirates.

Tonight, the Padres were determined not to let this one get away.  In the third, Wil Myers doubled to score Cory Spangenberg and the Padres took a 1-0 lead.

Myers came up again in the fifth and blasted a two-run homer to make it 3-0 Padres.

Josh Harrison put the Bucs on the board in the seventh with a solo homer.  With the bases loaded, Adam Frazier singled to score one run.

Dusty Coleman got the Padres out of the doghouse with a two-run home run in the eighth to boost the Padres to a 5-2 win and even the series at one game apiece.

Wake up early, because the series finale is at 10:35 a.m.  Clayton Richard starts against Jameson Taillon for the Pirates.
