August 31, 2023 (San Diego) - Another terrible road trip, but the Padres are home to host the Giants for four games.  Jakob Junis started tonight for San Fran against Pedro Avila.

The Giants started their punishment in the third on RBI singles from Joc Pederson, Mike Yastrzemski and Wade Meckler.  Pederson scored on an error.  Blake Sabol doubled to score J.D. Davis and SDSU alum Casey Schmitt hit a sac fly to score Meckler and the Giants jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three.

Yaz hit a solo homer to left in the fifth and the Giants took no prisoners as they won game one by a score of 7-2 (Garrett Cooper doubled with the bases loaded in the eighth to score Juan Soto and Ha-Seong Kim singled in the ninth to score Trent Grisham).
