August 26, 2017 (Miami) - Last night’s slugfest saw the Padres lose 8-6 after winning 6-5.  They hoped for things to be better tonight with Dinelson Lamet against Odrisamer Despaigne for the Marlins.

The Padres got right to work in the bottom of the first.  Cory Spangenberg stole home for a 1-0 lead.

Two innings later in the fourth--and no, it wasn't Stanton--the Marlins tied it up on a Marcell Ozuna homer.  From then on, it remained tied and we went into extra innings.

We made it to the 11th.  The Marlins walked it off in the most non-dramatic way possible; a sac fly by Miguel Rojas that Derek Dietrich scored on to win the game 2-1 and take the series.

Wake up early because tomorrow’s series finale is at 10:10 a.m.  Clayton Richard starts against former Padre Dan Straily for the Marlins.
