August 13, 2017 (Los Angeles) - The Padres let the lead slip out of their hands against the Dodgers last night, but today was a new day, so they tried again to win the series with Luis Perdomo on the mound against Kenta Maeda for the Dodgers.

First inning scoring took hold again and this time, the Padres were in charge.  Cory Spangenberg hit a solo home run and Wil Myers hit a sac fly to score Jose Pirela and the Padres took a 2-0 lead.

But like last night, that lead went away all too quickly.  Justin Turner blasted a three-run dagger of a homer in the fourth to put the Dodgers on top.  Yasmani Grandal added another two-run bomb.  A five-run fourth gave the Dodgers a 5-2 lead.

Spangenberg started a rally with his second home run of the day in the sixth, good for two runs and it was a one run game at 5-4.

But Turner added the final breathing room run with a towering homer to left in the eighth and the Dodgers took the series with a 6-4 win.

The Padres return to Petco Park on Monday for a three-game series with the Phillies.  First pitch is at 7:10 p.m.  Jerad Eickhoff starts for Philly against Travis Wood.
