May 25, 2023 (Washington, D.C.) - The Padres and the Nats vied for the series today.  Blake Snell started against Jake Irving for Washington.

The Nationals got the upper hand again.  Joey Meneses singled to score Lane Thomas in the first, but Trent Grisham saved the day with a two-run homer in the second and the Padres led 2-1 after two.

In the fifth, the Padres added on.  Xander Bogaerts singled to score Fernando Tatis Jr. and Rougned Odor doubled to score two and the Friars led 5-1 after five.

The Nats started their comeback in the seventh.  Jeimer Candelario doubled to score Luis García, Corey Dickerson singled to score Meneses, Dominic Smith singled to score Candelario and Alex Call singled to score Dickerson and tie the game.  Keibert Ruiz singled to score Smith and all looked lost for the Padres, but Odor blasted a three-run bomb in the ninth to complete the comeback series win, 8-6.
