September 22, 2017 (San Diego) - The Padres didn’t get the sweep in their last series of the season against the Dbacks, but they did take the series two games to one. Now it was time to get the Rockies out of the way, at least until next March. Tyler Anderson started tonight’s game one for Colorado against Clayton Richard.
The Padres callups made waves again, starting with Christian Villanueva’s home run in the fifth that gave the good guys a 1-0 lead.
It turned out to be the easiest win--and game--of the season for the Padres, as a sac fly in the sixth by Hunter Renfroe and an RBI single by Villanueva gave the Padres an easy 3-0 win in game one.
Game two is tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m. Jon Gray starts for Colorado against Jordan Lyles.
