September 15, 2017 (Denver) - “No more American League vacations for a while,” the Padres decided as they traveled to Denver and back to NL West play and a weekend series with the Rockies.  Clayton Richard started tonight’s game one against Tyler Chatwood for the Rockies.

The Rockies, desperate for that wild card spot, did all their scoring in the second.  Chatwood hit a two-RBI single and D.J. LeMahieu added on a two-RBI triple to give the Rox a 4-0 lead.

Wil Myers scored the lone Padres run in the sixth with a solo homer to make it 4-1.

Nolan Arenado added one more on a home run in the eighth and Ian Desmond hit a sac fly that scored Trevor Story and the Rockies took game one 6-1.

Game two is tomorrow night at 5:10 p.m.  Jordan Lyles starts against Kyle Freeland for the Rockies.
