August 5, 2023 (San Diego) - The Padres were bested last night when the Dodgers came from behind.  They tried again tonight against Michael Grove for L.A. against Blake Snell.

Will Smith picked up where he left last night with a deep homer to left in the first and the Dodgers led 1-0 after one.

Enrique Hernandez followed up with a sac fly to left to score Chris Taylor and L.A. led 2-0 after two.

Maanny Machado cut the lead in half with a solo homer in the fourth to deep left and the Dodgers led 2-1 after four.

But Freddie Freeman came through with an RBI single to left that scored Mookie Betts in the fifth and the Dodgers led 3-1 after five.

Crunch time in the eighth.  Thankfully, the Dodgers Padres’d and bungled a routine ground ball, allowing three to score and tie the game.  Manny Machado singled to score another two.  Jake Cronenworth singled in the eighth to score Machado.  Trent Grisham lined a ball to left to score two and the Padres did what the Dodgers did last night and came from behind to win 8-3.
