August 2, 2023 (Denver) - Both the Padres and Rockies went for the series today. Grossmont High alum Joe Musgrove started against Denver native Kyle Freeland for the Rockies.
Ha-Seong Kim hit a solo homer in the first and the Padres led 1-0 after one.
Juan Soto added on with a two-run homer in the third and the Padres led 3-0 after three.
Ezequiel Tovar scored in the fourth and the Padres led 3-1 after four.
Gary Sanchez hits a solo homer in the sixth and the Padres led 4-1 after six.
The ninth was when the Padres pumped it up. Sanchez hit another solo homer, Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a three-run bomb, Jake Cronenworth doubled to score Manny Machado and Sánchez singled to score two and the Padres routed the Rockies 11-1.
UP NEXT
The Padres go home on their day off tomorrow and get ready for the Dodgers this weekend. Game one on Friday is at 6:40 p.m.
