June 17, 2017 (Milwaukee) - Last night was a crushing defeat for the Padres, as they were walked off in the 10th with Eric Thames’ solo homer.  But they did get a good start, so they’ll try that approach today with Dinelson Lamet on the mound against Chase Anderson.

The Padres got off to another good start in the second with Yangervis Solarte’s homer for a 1-0 lead. But in the third, the Brewers took over.  Orlando Arcia hit an inside the park home run to tie the game and Eric Thames murdered the Padres again with a two-run line drive homer to center and the Brewers took their first lead of the game at 3-1.

The Padres crept closer in the fourth with Hunter Renfroe’s double.  Franchy Cordero scored and the Brewers’ lead was cut to 3-2.

This time, the Padres didn't let the game end in a heartbreaker.  Wil Myers homered in the sixth to tie the game at three and take it to extra innings.

Solarte homered in the 10th.  It was good for two runs and the Padres took a 5-3 lead.

But in the Brewers’ half of the 10th, Keon Broxton homered for two runs to tie the game at five.

In the 11th, the Padres took the lead again.  Cory Spangenberg and Chase d’Arnaud each homered to give the Padres a 7-5 lead and the win to even the series at one game apiece.

Be ready to wake up early; game three is at 11:10 a.m. tomorrow.  Luis Perdomo starts against Jimmy Nelson for Milwaukee.
