May 20, 2023 (San Diego) - The Padres were rocked by the Red Sox last night.  They tried again tonight in game two with Chris Sale starting for Boston against Grossmont High alum Joe Musgrove.

Enmanuel Valdez kicked things off for Boston with a three-run homer in the second, which Juan Soto answered with a solo homer to right in the home half.  The Red Sox led 3-1 after two.

After a leadoff double by Kiké Hernandez in the fourth, Alex Verdugo drove him in with a single to left and the Red Sox led 4-1 after four.

Fernando Tatis Jr. narrowed the gap in the sixth with a solo homer to left, but the Sox prevailed and took the series with a 4-2 win.
