June 25, 2016 (El Cajon) -- The El Cajon Police Department is looking for highly qualified, highly motivated individuals who want to make a difference by serving their community.  The application process opens on Monday, June 27th and closes on Monday, July 11th.  All applications must be submitted by 5:00 pm on July 11th.  Visit the City of El Cajon website to begin the process and to obtain salary and benefit information.

After the application, the hiring process will continue on Saturday, July 16th with the Physical Abilities Test held at Miramar College.  Applicants are encouraged to attend one of the free practice sessions for the Physical Abilities Test hosted by the El Cajon Police Department at Miramar College on either Saturday, July 9th from 7 AM to 10 AM or Sunday, July 10th from 3 PM to 6 PM. We created the video linked below to help better prepare applicants for the Physical Abilities Test.

Applicants that successfully complete the Physical Abilities Test, will take the California POST PELLETB written exam on Saturday, July 23rd.  Applicants who pass both the Physical Abilities Test and PELLETB exam will continue through the interview and background processes, with the goal of starting the 110th Regional Police Academy on November 1st as an El Cajon Police Officer Recruit.
