February 7, 2012 (Alpine)—Planning group members will hear public testimony and a presentation by the County Department of Planning and Land Use on a draft land use plan for former Forest Conservation Initiative lands in Alpine.

The changes could make it easier for some landowners to build on certain properties in the Alpine area.

The FCI land use issue “affects a lot of Alpine and the surrounding communities,” said Sharmin Self, newly elected chair replacing George Barnett as head of the Public Facilities, Services and Major Public Police Subcommittee. The Subcommittee will hold a joint meeting with the Private Actions and Circulation Committee devoted exclusively to the FCI issue on Thursday, February 9 at 6 p.m. at the Alpine community Center, 1830 Alpine Blvd. in Alpine.
