PERIPHERAL ARTERIAL DISEASE (PAD) SCREENING
Do you have aching, cramping or pain in your legs when you walk or exercise, but pain that diminishes when you rest? Attend a free screening to test the arterial blood flow to your legs. Students of Grossmont College’s Cardiovascular Technology Program will check blood pressure at your ankles and arms. This is a student practice, not a diagnostic test. Please, do not wear nylons. Project C.A.R.E. Community Action to Reach the Elderly
This free program helps people who live alone by offering a phone call each day. It there’s no answer, someone is called to check on you. Other Project C.A.R.E. services include Vial of Life, friendly visitor from the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol and more. NEW PROGRAM OFFERED BY SHARP GROSSMONT REHABILITATION SERVICES
AI CHI – AQUATIC THERAPY
Sharp Grossmont’s aquatic therapy program now offers Ai Chi. Ai Chi is adapted primarily from Tai Chi and Watsu, with the added benefits associated with warm-water, pool-based therapies, including improved circulation and muscle tone. Ai Chi is ideal for conditions such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis and low back pain. Classes meet twice a week in the Rehab Center.
