December 1, 2016 (Spring Valley) - Ramona High School girls’ soccer traveled to fellow East County rival Monte Vista in both teams’ second game of the season.

It was deadlocked for most of the first half.  Neither team found many opportunities until Monte Vista broke the ice with three minutes left with a breakaway goal, confusing the keeper and the Monarchs led 1-0.

In the second half, the Monarchs came out aggressive and it earned them another goal with 34 minutes left.  2-0 Monte Vista.  They held onto that score through the rest of the game and extra time and got the win.  They move to 2-0 on the season.  The Bulldogs fall to 0-2.

Next up for the Monte Vista soccer girls will be another 4:30 p.m. match at home tomorrow against Mater Dei. The Bulldogs won't play until Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. when they host Madison.
