May 29, 2024 (Lakeside)  --  Shiloh Ireland sent in these photos of Sheriff’s Deputy Carter at the Eastern San Diego County Youth Fair at the rodeo grounds in Lakeside last week, where a livestock auction was also held. The annual fair has representation of FFA, 4H and Grange with sheep, goats, swine, cattle, ducks, chickens, rabbits, more small animals and non-animal projects.

February 19, 2024 (Lakeside) — Here’s an event to squeal about! A tradition since 1947, the Eastern San Diego County Junior Fair will be held on Sunday, March 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lakeside Rodeo Grounds (12584 Mapleview St., Lakeside).

2ND ANNUAL ANGELA AUGUST 'FUN-RAISER' INCLUDED ENTERTAINMENT, BOOTHS, AND PETTING ZOO

May 3, 2014 (Alpine)- Last Saturday, April 27, a crowd came out to support Dawn August, her husband and their sons, Daniel and Nathan, at the second annual Angela August ‘Fun-raiser’ (For the Love of Angela) at Alpine Town Hall. This fundraising event for Mothers Against Drunk Drivers was held to honor the memory of 25 year old Angela August, who was killed by a drunk driver on June 11, 2012--just five days before she was going to walk and graduate summa cum laude with her graduating class at UC San Diego.
