JURY ACQUITS NURSE OF MANSLAUGHTER IN DEATH OF INMATE AT LAS COLINAS

February 9, 2024 (San Diego) – A jury has acquitted Danalee Pascua, a nurse accused of involuntary manslaughter in the November 2019 death of Elisa Serna, a pregnant inmate at the Las Colinas Detention Center in Santee.  Charges against a second defendant, Dr. Friederike Von Lintig, resulted in a hung jury, with 9 jurors voting for acquittal and 3 against. A hearing next  Wednesday will determine whether prosecutors will seek to retry his case.

LAS COLINAS INMATE DIES IN HOSPITAL

August 11, 2018 (Santee) - A 52-year-old female inmate at Los Colinas Detention and Re-Entry Facility in Santee died in a local hospital, where she had been receiving treatment for the past six weeks.

DRUG HOUSE SHUT DOWN IN LAKESIDE

July 10, 2015 (Lakeside) – A drug house in Lakeside has been raided and the property condemned, Sergeant David Hale with the Sheriff’s Department reports.  County Sheriff’s deputies from the Lakeside substation, aided by the Sheriff’s special enforcement detail and ASTREA helicopter served a search warrant at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at 9001 Creekford Road.
