December 5, 2011 (Spring Valley) -- Dominic Estevan Penney, 20, died of head injuries sustained when he was struck by a black Ford Mustang near Mount Miguel High School. According to the CHP, he was hit while crossing Sweetwater Road at Blossom Lane in Spring Valley at 9:40 p.m. on December 3.
A 9-1-1 call was placed, but due to the severity of his injuries, Penney was pronounced dead at the scene without medical intervention. He resided with his family in the unincorporated area of Spring Valley.
