January 28, 2019 (Lakeside) – The body of Nicolas Khaiaphone, 50, of San Diego was found yesterday by lifeguard divers in the San Vicente Reservoir in Lakeside.
A boater noticed an overturned kayak in the water around 10 a.m. and notified reservoir staff, who called San Diego City Park rangers. The rangers requested help from the San Diego Lifeguards. The lifeguards recovered the body shortly after noon and death was pronounced at the scene.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
