National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

GET RID OF YOUR UNUSED, EXPIRED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS

October 22, 2024 (San Diego) - National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday, and the County is encouraging community members to collect their unused and expired medications and take them to a drop off location around the County.

DEA AND ITS PARTNERS REMOVE MORE THAN 670,000 POUNDS OF UNUSED MEDICATIONS FROM COMMUNITIES NATIONWIDE

June 2, 2024 (San Diego) -- DEA and its local law enforcement partners collected 670,136 pounds of unused medications during the 26th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 27, 2024.  
 
The DEA San Diego Field Division collected nearly 5,000 pounds of drugs from 29 locations located in San Diego and Imperial Counties. Specifically, San Diego County collected 3,668 pounds and 120 pounds was collected in Imperial County. An additional 1,141 pounds was collected from year-round drop box locations in San Diego County, bringing the total collected to 4,809 pounds.

NATIONAL PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY IS THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22

October 19, 2016 (El Cajon) -- Time to clear out those medicine cabinets!  On Saturday, October 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the El Cajon Police Department, working in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, will be hosting a prescription drug drop off site in the parking lot of their police station, located at 100 Civic Center Way. Bring your outdated, unused or unwanted prescription pills, ointments, or liquids; no questions asked.
