ECM PADRES REPORT: PADRES EVEN SERIES WITH BIG COMEBACK

September 1, 2023 (San Diego) - The Padres kick off September…well, at least the season’s almost over.  started for San Fran against Michael Wacha.

Wilmer Flores hit a solo homer in the first.  But the Padres struck right back in the home half.  Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a two-run homer and Juan Soto hit a solo homer and the Padres led 3-1 after one.

 

Trent Grisham singled in the second to score Luis Campusano and the Padres led 4-1 after two.

 

Campusano singled and Matthew Batten doubled to score runs in the third and the Padres led 6-1 after three.  

 

Brandon Crawford tried with a sac fly in the fourth to score Patrick Bailey and the Padres led 6-2 after four.

 

Tatis Jr. scored on an error in the sixth and the Padres evened the series with a shockingly big 7-3 win (LaMonte Wade Jr. hit by pitch in the ninth with the bases loaded to score Thairo Estrada).

 

UP NEXT

 

Game three tomorrow is at 5:40 p.m.  Kyle Harrison starts for the Giants against Blake Snell.
