ECM PADRES REPORT: PADS SHUT OUT GIANTS FOR SERIES WIN

September 3, 2023 (San Diego) - Today, the Padres got to do something they haven’t gotten to do in a long time:  go for a series win.  Alex Cobb started for the Giants against Seth Lugo.

Juan Soto knocked out a two-run homer for his third straight homer in as many games in the first.  Xander Bogaerts doubled to score Manny Machado and the Padres led 3-0 after one.
 
Machado homered in the third and the Padres finally won a series with a nice 4-0 win.

The Phililies are in town next.  Game one tomorrow is at 3:40 p.m.  Taijuan Walker starts for the Phils against Rich Hill.
