ALL LANES OF I-8 EAST TO CLOSE SEPT. 13-16 WEEKEND FOR CONSTRUCTION

September 8, 2024 (San Diego’s East County) – Cal Trans announces a full freeway closure of eastbound Interstate 8, from just west of State Route 125 in La Mesa to just east of State Route 67 in El Cajon. The closure will run from 9 p.m. on Friday, September 13th to 5 a.m Monday, September 16th.

 
The closure is due to a bridge repair over El Cajon Blvd. Traffic will be detoured to northbound State Route 126, eastbound State Route 52, southbound 67, and eastbound I-8.
 
Motorists should expect delays and allow extra time for travel during these times.
