Bridge work to take place four consecutive weekends

July 29, 2016 (San Diego) - Caltrans announced that the connector ramps from westbound Interstate 8 (I-8) to northbound and southbound State Route 125 (SR-125) will be closed for bridge work Saturday from 9 p.m. until Sunday at 9 a.m. on four consecutive weekends beginning July 30.

February 8, 2016 (Alpine) — A 51-year-old San Diego man died after rear-ending a truck pulling a semi-trailer on eastbound Interstate 8 in Alpine early this morning.

HORSE HIT BY TRUCK IS REUNITED WITH OWNER IN ALPINE

 

March 14, 2015 (Alpine)--A horse hit by a vehicle is back with his owner after being rescued by County Animal Services early Wednesday morning.

April 12, 2012 (Jacumba)--I have lived in Jacumba for over twenty years. The Jacumba area has been economically depressed since interstate 8 was built approximately 45 years ago. What this area needs is JOBS. These projects will bring temporary and permanent JOBS. We need any and all JOBS created by these projects and all future projects.

CAR THIEVES LEAD POLICE ON HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT

 
January 6, 2012 (La Mesa) – Police seek two suspects who led police on a high-speed chase early this morning in a stolen white 1988 Toyota Camry (CA plate 2LQR720).  The chase began when La Mesa Police officers tried to stop a stolen vehicle leaving the parking lot at the Heritage Inn at 7851 Fletcher Parkway in La Mesa at 5:49 a.m.
