May 1, 2016 (Los Angeles) - The Padres were looking for the sweep of the LA Dodgers in the series finale in Tinseltown.  Drew Pomeranz took the mound for San Diego and Clayton Kershaw for LA.

The Dodgers sought to avoid that. Kersh worked some pitcher magic in the third on a single that drove home A.J. Ellis, who had doubled, to give LA a 1-0 lead.

A low-scoring game that was saved from being boring by Kershaw's inhuman pitching.  The Dodgers avoid the sweep and win 1-0.  Kershaw gets the shutout and the Dodgers break a six-game losing streak, but the Padres take the series two games to one.

The Padres are coming home tomorrow night for a homestand against the Colorado Rockies and then the New York Mets.  James Shields will take the mound to start tomorrow night against Jon Gray for Colorado.
