September 10, 2016 (San Diego) - After being brought back to Earth in game two by the Rockies, the Padres tried again in game three with Christian Friedrich on the mound against Jon Gray.

The Padres got things back to normal.  In the first, Yangervis Solarte singled, scoring Jon Jay and the Friars took a 1-0 lead.

In the second, Jay singled, scoring Luis Sardinas and it was 2-0 Padres.  He’s happy to be back.  Wil Myers put the nail in with a double that scored two and the Padres lept to 4-0.  Solarte came with the dagger with another double and the Padres jumped to 6-0.

The Padres would be robbed of the shutout again in the eighth as D.J. LeMahieu singled to score Cristhian Adames, but the Padres still led 6-1.  They weren’t safe from CarGo this time; Carlos Gonzalez singled, scoring two and the lead was cut in half to 6-3.  But they held on and got the win.  Friedrich finished with 10 strikeouts.

The finale is tomorrow at 1:40 p.m.  Chad Bettis will face Edwin Jackson.
