August 28, 2009 (San Diego’s East County) – Power outages have been reported in multiple locations through San Diego County. A map of affected areas can be viewed here: http://www.sdge.com/outages/outageMap.shtml
One outage is impacting the following communities: Casa De Oro/ Rancho San Diego,Jamacha/ W Jamul/ Indian Springs, Jamul/ N Jamul/ Lyons Valley, La Presa/ Spring Valley/ Rancho San Diego, Lyons Valley/ Barrett Lake. A problem in the overhead electrical system is suspected; in addition some residents in the Jamul area are without power due to a car accident that sparked a brush fire, which is now under control.
A second outage has brought down power in City Heights, Chollas Creek and Oak Park. A problem in the underground electrical system is suspected.
Power from all outages is projected to be restored later today. A total of 2,403 customers are impacted.
