July 1, 2017 (La Mesa) – A suspected drunk driver crashed into a semi-truck on Interstate 8 near State Route 125 on Wednesday, following a pursuit by La Mesa police and California Highway Patrol early Wednesday morning.
An officer spotted Parr speeding and driving his pickup erratically around 2 a.m. on Amaya Drive. When he tried to pull over the driver, the vehicle took off at a high speed, Patch.com reports.
The driver first struck a parked car that was unoccupied in El Cajon, before leading police onto I-8 west before crashing into the back of the semi-truck.
Officers freed the driver, Johnathan Parr, 42 from the wreckage. He was taken to the hospital with only minor injuries, then arrested.
