ROSALES HOMER LIFTS PADS OVER SOX IN GAME ONE

September 5, 2016 (San Diego) - The Boston Red Sox paid a visit to Petco Park for Big Papi’s last San Diego trip and a reuniting with Drew Pomeranz, who pitched today against Edwin Jackson and his old club.

The bats stayed quiet till the fourth when Adam Rosales hit a two-run shot to give the Padres a 2-0 lead.

The Sox came back in the eighth with a home run by Bryan Holaday to make the score 2-1, but the Padres hung on to take game one.

Game two is tomorrow night at 7:10.  Clay Buchholz will start for Boston against Paul Clemens.
