June 17, 2016 (San Diego's East County) - Alex Bowen, a native of Santee who graduated from Stanford University last year, has been one of 14 athletes named to the U.S. Men's Water Polo team at the FINA League Super Final in Huizhou, China, KNSD reports.

The final is the last competition before the U.S. Men's Olympic Water Polo team is announced on the Midway downtown on July 7.  The roster was announced by U.S. Men's Water Polo coach Dejan Udovivic today.

Bowen scored seven goals at the 2013 FINA World Championships and seven goals at the 2013 World League Super Final.  He was on the Junior National Team that placed ninth at the 2011 FINA Junior World Championships in Lima, Peru.

The Super Final will begin on June 21 when Team USA takes on the hosts, Team China.
