December 9, 2023 (San Diego) - The Aztecs are back in Viejas Arena as their non-conference schedule continues. Tonight, they hosted UC Irvine.
The Aztecs struggled big time in the early going as redshirt senior Anteaters guard Justin Hohn hit from beyond the arc twice, but so did senior Micah Parrish, who brought SDSU back to within one. It was senior forward Jay PAL’s three that gave the red and black their first lead of the game. UCI kept up, but senior guard Darrion Trammell joined the three-point party to keep SDSU ahead. The five-minute mark was marred by turnovers by both teams, but the Aztecs survived and went to the half with a comfortable 33-24 lead.
The Aztecs are off for 10 days until the 19th when they host Saint Katherine. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
