October 5, 2023 (Seattle) - The No. 22 Aztec men’s soccer team (6-2-2, 0-2-1) fell at Washington 3-1 Thursday evening. SDSU struck first but then surrendered three second half goals in a nine-minute span.

“We had a bad 20-minute span where UW turned it up and we couldn’t turn the tide,” Head coach Ryan Hopkins said after the match. “It’s a tough one but we’ve got to move on and figure out how to get a result at Oregon State Sunday.”

Prior to the Huskies’ three-goal barrage, the Aztecs had allowed just one goal through the first 876 minutes of the year.

The Aztecs scored in the 24^th minute. Rommee Jaridly threw it into Alexander Levengood who then immediately passed it back. Jaridly then dribbled to the endline and sent a cross into the box which Austin Brummett headed in for his team-high seventh goal of the season.

Washington’s first goal came in the 67^th minute. They then would score again in the 74^th and 76^th minute.

The Huskies outshot SDSU 14-5 on the night and 10-2 in the second half.
