Alexander Mandma improved to 4-1 in singles tournament play this year with his win on Sunday at the ITA All-American Championships

Octobeer 2, 2022 (Tulsa) -  On Sunday, the San Diego State men’s tennis team played three pre-qualifying consolation matches in the ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa and emerged with a win from Alexander Mandma.

After suffering his first loss of the season yesterday, Mandma bounced back in his consolation match against Louisiana State’s Benjamin Ambrosio. After dropping the first set, Mandma came back to win the final two to earn the 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory.

 

A native of Tokyo, Japan, Chikaya Sato went up against Gonzaga’s Oliver Andersson. Sato went to a second-set tiebreaker, but was unable to win the set, and fell 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

 

Johannes Seeman faced Ethan Gaubert from Nebraska-Omaha. Seeman was bested 6-4, 6-4.
