SDSU competed in three meets in three states
April 28, 2019 (Irvine/Tucson/Provo, Utah) - The Aztec track and field team wrapped up a busy Saturday after competing in three meets across three states. Kaitlin Heri, Callista Fletcher and Kaitlin Heri all entered the top ten all-time in their respective events.
Nyjari McNeil took second place in the 400m dash with a personal best time of 53.52, which gives her the No. 8 time in SDSU history. Lisa-Anne Barrow finished in 54.14 (8th place) and Jalyn Harris also finished in the top ten with a time of 55.16.
Callista Fletcher ran an 11.52 in the 100m dash to take fourth place and sneak into the top ten all-time.
Kaitlin Heri highlighted the Robison Invitational by taking first in the pole vault. She topped her previous personal best mark by 5.75” and cleared 13-11.00, good for No. 5 in school history. Teammates Alysia Allen (3rd, 12-09.25) and Marissa Berry (5th, 12-03.25) joined her in the top five.
In Arizona, Maya Brosch and Nia Collins both set new PRs in the 400 meter hurdles. Brosch crossed the finish line in 1:00.42 and Nia Collins bested her previous best collegiate time after finishing in 1:01.67.
Aztecs to PR today included: Vanessa Spizewski (long jump, 17-11.25), Paige Comiso (5,000m, 18:19.47), Danielle Scott (800m, 2:15.67) and Sara Absten (long jump, 18-10.50).
