February 2, 2019 (Albuquerque) - Senior Bonnie Draxler shattered her own school record in the pole vault after clearing 14-10.00 (4.52m) at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic Saturday afternoon. Entering today, that would be the top height in the nation and beat her previous school record by over six inches.

“I was so surprised when I cleared both 4.41m and 4.52,” Draxler said after the meet. “It was such an amazing moment for me because I’ve been working so hard. This is my last year, so I want to give it everything I have.”

Freshman Nyjari McNeil continued her impressive start to her collegiate career by winning the 800 meter run. Her time of 2:10.02 set a new SDSU freshman record and is the second fastest time in school history.

Sophomore Callista Fletcher finished seventh in the 60 meter dash with a new PR of 7.47, good for the seventh best time in program history.

Freshman Danae Dyer earned a fourth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.35, just 0.13 seconds off first place.

Freshman Jordyn Bryant also finished in fourth in the shotput with a throw of 44-02.75 (13.48m).
