March 7, 2020 (La Jolla) - The Aztec track and field team kicked of the 2020 outdoor season at UCSD’s San Diego Collegiate Challenge on Saturday. 19 athletes competed with 12 making their 2020 debut. Vanessa Spizewski and Jordyn Bryant highlighted the day for SDSU by winning the long jump and discus throw.

Spizewski set a new PR, clearing 18-05.25. She also ran the 100m dash where she took ninth (12.88).

Bryant won the discus with a throw of 162-5, a new PR. She also earned a third-place finish in the shot put (45-05.75) and finished seventh in the javelin (116-8)

Other top three finishes included: Kasey Ebb (400m, 2^nd, 56.96), Felicia Crenshaw (discus, 2^nd, 157-10) and Quinn Wiley (100m hurdles, 3^rd, 1:03.63).
